The Artist's Way: What We Learned In Week 1

Plus the literal earthquake that shook Sam's foundation

We are on Week 2 of our 12-week The Artist’s Way journey! As a part of our creative process, we’re jumping on Substack Live and sending a newsletter every Monday to talk through our past week and current goals. If you missed it, we’re doing a creative reset for the next 12 weeks and invited you to join us, too. (It’s free and something you can do on your own time.)

Now that we have a week under our belt, we can talk about what’s working, what’s hard, and what we’re looking forward to. You can listen to most of our conversation above, but here’s a recap, too.

✍️ How many days did you write morning pages?

  • Sam: 5/7

  • Viv: 5/7

👀 What was your Artist’s Date?

  • Sam: a walk through San Diego

  • Viv: a walk through the New York Public Library’s “Treasures” and “The New Yorker” exhibitions

✨ Did you notice any synchronicities?

  • Yes! We go through them in the podcast, but here is a glimpse from the biggest one of them all — the actual earthquake that shook Sam’s home in SD just as we were talking about week 1 shaking our foundations.
