We are on Week 4 of our 12-week The Artist’s Way journey! As a part of our creative process, we’re jumping on Substack Live and sending a newsletter every Monday to talk through our past week and new goals. If you missed it, we’re doing a creative reset for the next 12 weeks and have invited you to join us, too. (It’s free and something you can do on your own time.)
Week 3 was exhausting and busy for both of us, but still lent itself to so many synchronicities and creative openings. We deep dive into some of those more magical moments in our conversation, but here’s a rundown of what we experienced last week and our intentions for this week.
✍️ How many days did you write morning pages?
Sam: 4/7? Not sure if writing my new website counts, if not, she got a measly 4 days done.
Viv: 5/7 (This is what I’m averaging out almost every week so far. More than this and I feel a bit burnt out)
👀 What was your Artist’s Date?
Sam: Instead of venturing outside or spending money, I decided to let my mind play for an hour. I experimented with intuitive practices, dinked around on the piano, and moved my body in weird ways.
Viv: I didn’t have alone time while on vacation with family, but ended up doing many creative dates with my fiancé. The top one was a joy ride down backroads.
✨ Did you notice any synchronicities?
Sam: Yes!! I had a friend randomly call and tell me that he was inspired by me and what I was doing. It felt like a “keep going” nudge from the universe. I also had my first new entrants to my group program exactly 24 hours after setting the intention with Viv.
Viv: YES! My biggest one happened at dinner on Friday night. Our waiter walked up to the table, which had a paper table cloth, and as she introduced herself, she wrote down her name in big swooping letters across the table…Lilly. I’m spotting my main character’s name everywhere these days.
🏃♀️➡️ What is your intention for the week?
Sam: To play, get creative, and try writing a new story that came to mind. I’m taking care of my energy.
Viv: I want to try to flow this week as much as I did last week when I was on vacation. I think it’s possible. I just get in my way too much. I’m also going to start writing my second book. Going to try my best to replace my reading time with more writing time, at least as much as possible.
If you’re doing The Artist’s Way with us, we’d love to hear how it’s going! Are you keeping up with your pages? What artist dates have you gone on? We can include some of your feedback in next week’s Substack.
