We are on Week 10 of our 12-week The Artist’s Way journey! As a part of our creative process, we send out a weekly newsletter updating you on our progress and hopefully encouraging you on yours!
As we reflect on Week 9, we’re both starting our week prioritizing comfort. We have also (unsurprisingly) both arrived at the same aha moment — life flows more easily when you live up to your own expectations of yourself, instead of the ones others have for you.
✍️ How many days did you write morning pages?
Viv: 4/7 — I had a harder, anxiety-ridden week and I could see it reflected in my page count. The days I did write helped so much, and the days I didn’t reminded me that self-care comes in all forms.
Sam: 3/7 - It was my big launch week, so I was quite swamped, but I did love the moments that I was able to pause and write down what I was feeling as everything I worked on for 5 months finally went public.
👀 What was your Artist’s Date?
Sam: I made a really amazing curry and treated myself to the nice chicken at a health foods store. It felt good to treat myself, slow down, and savor.
Viv: Unsurprisingly, I didn’t have an artist date last week. Other creative self-care habits I did tap into last week: deep breathing, leaving the house to work, and reaching out to friends.
✨ Did you notice any synchronicities?
Sam: Oh yeah. I got many reminders to relax, not stress, and that everything was working out. It felt like a big “this is me” reveal to the universe. A lot of things wrapped up. A chapter completed. I felt in flow with everything that came up–technical issues, sparkly moments, and everything in between. It was like a giant waterslide.
Viv: It’s refreshing to know that even when I’m not moving through my week “perfectly,” the Universe is still showing up for me. I saw my main character’s name everywhere. I was gifted unexpected moments to write and check in with myself. Last week was messy, but also very aligned.
🏃♀️➡️ What is your intention for the week?
Sam: Rest and try to view this week as a half workweek. I need serious downtime after a major launch week and speaking gig. My health is #1 right now.
Viv: I want to get quiet and focus on my work and my health. Nothing else is more important.
